This DAR application is dated 10/10/1933, #283536, Mrs. Susan Helen
Miller West, wife of Mr. H. R. West of 3327 N.E. 20th Ave.,
Portland, Oregon and Oregon State College, Conwallis, OR.

The application was accepted by the National Board of Management on
Dec. 20, 1933.

Susan Helen Miller was applying by right of lineal descnet from John
Green who was born in Virginia in 1752 and died in Virginia,
Rockbridge Co. after 1840.  His place of residence during the
Revolution was Goochland Co., Virginia.

Susan Miller was born in Hannibal, County of Marion, State of
Mississippi.

She was the daughter of Cleve H. Miller b. 2/1/1884; hsi wife Ruby
Martin Miller born 5/9/1886, married 1911.

Ruby Martin Miller was the child of Reuben Lawrence Martin b.
2/23/1845, died 11/30/1922 and his wife Susan Alice Mefford b.
4/30/1850, died 7/20/1919, married 1872.

Reuben Lawrence Martin was the child of James W. Martin b. 1814,
died 1887 and his wife Nancy Obenchain Green, b. 1821, died 1912,
mar. 1839.

Nancy Obenchain Green was the child of Lawrence Green b. 1792, died
after 1840 and his wife, Sarah White b. 1798, died after 1840, mar.
1820.

Lawrence Green was the child of John Green, b. 1752, died after 1840
and his wife, Nancy O. Green, b. 1763, died 1820, mar. 1790.

The above applicant did not have the date of death of the Rockbridge
Co. residents and has a marrige to Nancy O. Green b. 1763, died 1820
and mar. 1790.

There is no source cited for this marriage and  John Green was
married to Susan Lawrence in Goochland County in 1789.  Other
sources cited were History of Rockbridge County by Morton, Census of
Military Pensioners, Data in File Case.
