ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, VA - MILITARY - Alexander Buntain, Revolutionary War Disability Affidavit --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- REVOLUTIONARY WAR DISABILITY AFFIDAVIT - ALEXANDER BUNTAIN Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection Buntain, Alexander Pen. 53 1787-1811 see Bunton, Alexander Rockbridge County Militia That the bearer Alex Buntain is (in my Opinion) under very considerable disadvantages in procuring any Laborious employment owing to a wound received in his right hand by which the motion of said joint is _____ destroyed and continues in a state of considerable suppuration without the Probbality of use of the aforesaid ____ being soon cured. As attested by Me William Clunie Surgeon April the 28 1787 I do, with the advice of council, hereby certify that Alexander Buntain, aged about 28 years , late a private in the Militia of Rockbridge County, whose pay was at the rate of five pounds per month, was disabled in the service of The United States by a wound in his right hand, and he is allowed the sum of ten pounds yearly; which allowance accordingly made him, to commence on the first day of January 1786. Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia , at Richmond is this 23st day of April 1787. Edm: Randolph Copy teste: T.
