Genl Morgan and in the service of the United States. Given under my hand 28th Nov. 1786. Wm Mc Ro ? On the examination of John Caldwell who says he was in the militia at the Battle of Cowpe?s find a ___ ___ ___thru the orginal arm ____ ____ near the middle of the biceps muscle which one motion is greatly ______ -the bone has been fractured but it _____ ______ that of the flesh wound appears to be pretty firm-he _____ _____on _____ of the ______ it is very apt to inflame and _________. This may be the case and from the injury _____ with the free and full use of the limb as well as the strength thereof must be in some measure diminished. W. Foushes Nov. 28, 1788 I do, with the advice of council, hereby certify that John Caldwell, about 34 years of age, late a private in the Militia at Rockbridge County, appears to have been disabled in such a manner while in the service of The United States as to entitle him to the sum of twelve pounds yearly; which allowance accordingly made him, to commence on the first day of January 1786.
