Thomas Green, Rev. War Pension Application, abstracted, c1832 - Rockbridge Co. VA Thomas Green #S 32,279, Barren County, Ky., Capt. Leake's Comp- any was pensioned to 17 August 1833. On Sep. 24, 1832 he was 72 years of age. Enlisted in Goochland Co., in 1780 in September under Captain Elisha Leake, Major Anderson Peers, served 90 days in guarding Hessian? prisoners to Winchester, returned home March 1787. He was drafted for 9 months under Capt. Thomas Massie, 9th Virginia Reg., Major Dick commanding Battalion. Was in Battle of Jamestown and went on to seige of New York. Was in battle where Cornwallis surrendered. Never got a discharge. Said he would be 73 next 30 May 1833. (Born 30 May 1760?) State of Illinois, Effingham Co, 1 March 1851. Lately removed from Ky, now resides in Ill. with son. Signed by James Green. Heirs listed as Joshua Green and Harmon Green. Pension paid to Sep. 4, 1850.
