Conner died at his home on Bratton's Run near Rockbridge Alum Springs, Sept 3, 1933 at noon. Mr. Conner was 76 years of age and had been in failing health for several years. He was one of the oldest residents of the Bratton's Run valley and was a good neighbor and friend and a devoted father. He is survived by five sons and three daughters. Charles and Floyd of Montgomery, W. Va; Earl and Amanda of Washington, DC; Miss Lillie of Staunton, and Mrs. S.H. Rapp of Clifton Forge; David and Luther at home. His wife was Miss Laura Plott who died in 1920. Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday at 3pm by Rev. L.O. Rose of the Goshen Methodist church of which Mr. Conner was a member, in the presence of a large number of his neighbors, friends, and relatives. Interment was made in the Bratton's Run cemetery by the side of his wife. Floral tribute was beautiful.
