BROUGHMAN DIED LAST NIGHT Submitted by: ChazTuna (ChazTuna@aol.com) Succumbs After Critical Illness of Several Days. Funeral Tomorrow Mrs. Eliza Virginia Broughman, 66 years old, widow of the late J. P. Broughman, died at her home, 110 Magazine Street, at 7 oÕclock last night, from a complication of diseases. The funeral services will be held from the home at 2 oÕclock tomorrow afternoon. The Rev. J. S. Dizler, her former pastor, will conduct the services. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Broughman is survived by two children, Harry Broughman, and Miss Lemma Tolley. She had been critically ill for several days prior to her death. ******************************************************************** Submitted by: "Louise M. Perkins" ALICE BUSH: (Covington Virginian) July 5, 1990: Mrs. Alice Potter Bush, 80, of 903 N. Pocahontas Ave., died Thursday in Alleghany Regional Hospital. She was born February 13, 1910 in Collierstown, a daughter of the late Stokes William and Amanda Bennington Potter. Mrs. Bennington was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Bush in 1979. She was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Ladies Circle of the church. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Howard (Joyce) Boone, Mrs. Marvin (Scarlett) Cade, and Mrs. Harvey (Sylvia) Reynolds, all of Covington, Mrs. Russell (Shirley) Scoroggins of Madison, Ind, and Mrs. James (Sue) Skelding of Richmond; three sons, Charles F. Bush, Jr. of Maple Shade, NJ., James R. Bush and Jack W. Bush, both of Covington; 30 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; five sistes, Mrs. Lewis (Juanita) Terry of Woodcliff, KY, Mrs. George (Sybil) Smith of Richmond, Mrs. Harvey (Bessie) Grimes of Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. Loujise Humphries and Miss Mickey Potter, both of Covington; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bush was preceded in death by two brothers. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold E. Moffitt Jr. officiating. Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. The family will receive their friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home. 6 Jul 1990: Alice Bush: The funeral service for Alice Potter Bush will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold E. Moffitt Jr. officiating. Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Charles F. Bush, III, Jeff Bush, Robert Boone, Ricky Boone, John Bush, Jim Skelding, Lee Reynolds, and Jay Bush. Alternate pallbearers will be Jams R. Bush, Danny Boone, and Tarzan Bush. The family will receive their friends tonight from 7:00 to 8:30 at Arritt Funeral Home. The family suggests that donations in Mrs. Bush's name be made to the McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church.
