Perkins" LULA JOHNSON-31 Mar 1992: Clifton Forge-Mrs. Lula Terry Johnson, 84, of Route 1, Clifton Forge, died Monday at the Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 10, 1907 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Addison G. Terry and Sarah Alice Terry. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Iron Gate Baptist Church and Faithful Workers Bible Class. She is the widow of Henry Elisha Johnson, who preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lucille Bryant and Mrs. Dorothy Bryant, both of Lexington, Mrs. Brenda Hoke of Covington, Mrs. Irma Brown of Iron Gate, and Mrs. Nancy Swoope of Route 1, Clifton Forge; four sons, Henry E. Johnson, Jr. of columbus, Ohio, Ray Johnson and Ralph Johnson, both of Iron Gae, and Fred Johnson of Route 1, Clifton Forge; five sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Deisher and Mrs. Ella Switzer, both of Iron Gate, Mrs. Ola Smith and Mrs. Mammie Entsminger, both of Lexington, and Mrs. Virginia Robinson of Staunton; one brother, Brance Terry; 32 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sons and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with the Rev. John Miller and the Rev. Michael Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be other grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight from 7:00 until 8:30 at Nicely Funeral Home.. Memorial gifts may be made to the Iron Gage Baptist Church Building Fund.
