Estoria "Toni" Paulk Pence, 90, of Buena Vista, died April 10.

She was born Jan. 5, 1918, and was orphaned at age eight. She helped her 
grandmother raise her two younger siblings and married the late Robert Howell. 
She worked as a dietician at Florida Southern University until 1948 and then 
married Paul Pence Sr. of Shenandoah, who preceded her in death. She lived 
in McLean for most of her married life.

She is survived by three sons, Robert D. Howell of San Antonio, Texas, 
Paul E. Pence Jr. of Richmond, Utah and Phillip E. Pence of Buena Vista; 
two daughters, Jeanette H. Mark of Story, Wyo., and Paula E. Black of 
Warrenton; one sister, Eston Christie of Lakeland, Fla.; and 25 
grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A family memorial service will be held at a future date in Buena Vista.

Arrangements were handled by Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service.
