Rockbridge County, VA Original Marriage Bond of Solomon McCampbell
and Nancy Berry, with consent of William Berry (Transcription)

Know all men by these Presents that we Solomon McCampbell & George
Tedford are held and firmly bound to the Commonwealth of Virginia in
the sum of fifty pounds Curt Money to which payment well & Truly to
be made we bind ourselves our heirs Exects and Admrs Jointly &
Severally firmly by these Presents Witness our hands & seals this
24th Day of July 1782.
                Wheras there is a Marriage Suddenly Intended to be
Solemised between the [said] Soloman McCampbell and Nancy Berry  The
Condition of this Obligation is Such tht if there is no Lawful
[wise] to Obstruct the same then this Obligation shall be Void or
else to Remain in full force

Know all men by these presents that we William Asher and Henry Campbell
are held and firmly bound unto our Commonwealth of Virginia in Fifty 
Pounds Current Money to be paid unto our Commonwealth afforesaid.  To 
which payment well and truly be made We do bind ourselves our heirs 
Excs. & Adms. Jointly & severally firmly by these presents Sealed with
our seals and dated this 25th day of September 1872

Whereas there is a marriage suddenly intended to be Solemnized between
the above bound Willam ASher and Mary McChesney

The Condition of this present obligation is such that if there be no
Lawful cause to obstruct the Same then this Obligation to be void or 
else to remain in full force.
