Peter Barger and Ann Pettycrew daughter of John Pettycrew

Know all men by these presents that we Peter Barger and John Pettycreware held
and firmly bound unto Wilson G. Nicholas??, Governor of the commonwealth of
Virginia in the just sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment,
we and truly, to be mad so said Governor, we bind ourselves, our heirs,
executors and administrators jointly and severally formerly by these presents.
Witness our hands and seals this 2th day of September, 1816.  The condition of
the above obligation is such that, whereas there is a marriage shortly
intended to be solemnized between the above named Peter Barger and Ann
Pettycrew daugher of the above named John Pettycrew of Rockbridge County.
If therefore there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then the
above obligation to be void other wise to remain in full force and virtue.
