Preston, Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia in the just sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment, we and truly, to be mad so said Governor, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally formerly by these presents. Witness our hands and seals this 9th day of September, 1817. The condition of the above obligation is such that, whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above named David Parsons and Jane Pettycrew daugher of Wm Pettycrew of Rockbridge County. If therefore there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then the above obligation to be void other wise to remain in full force and virtue. Preston, Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia and his successors for the use of the commonwealth in the just sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment, will and truly, to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally formerly by these presents. Witness our hands and seals this 29th day of July, 1817.
