Preston governor of Virginia and his successors for the use of the Commonwealth in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents witness our hands and seals thsi 15 day of June 1818 The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound John John Bennington Bachelor and Elizabeth Morris Morris spinister daughter of the above bound John Morris of said Rockbridge County. if therefore there shall be no lawfull cause to obstruct the same then this obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force Teste John Bennington (seal) Henry J. Preston, Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia and his successors for the use of the Commonwealth of in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment, we and truly, to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally formerly by these presents. Witness our hands and seals this 18th day of May, 1818. The condition of the above obligation is such that, whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above named Robert Petticrew, Bachelor and Jane Grigsly daughter of the obove bound William Grigsley of Rockbridge County. If therefore there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then the above obligation to be void other wise to remain in full force and virtue.
