Dorman of Rockbridge are held and firmly bound unto James Pleasants Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the Just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to which payment will and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and administrators Jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Witness our hands and seals this 9th day of March 1825. The condition of the above obligation is such that there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound James Ford and Betsy Standoff daughter of said Henry Standoff if there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the same then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force Teste James Ford (seal) Saml McD Reid DC Henry Standoff (x his mark) Chs. Witness our hands and seals this 31St day of December 1825. The condition of the above obligation is such that, whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above named Washington Pettigrew and Mary Parsons, Daughter of the above bound George Parsons. If therefore there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then the above obligation to be void other wise to remain in full force and virtue.
