Transcription of John T. Ruley and Nancy Webb's Marriage Bond and Statements Regarding Their Age. Know all men by these presents that we John T. Ruley, John B. Ruley and Henry Webb of Rockbridge County are held and firmly bound unto John Floyd Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia in the just sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made to said governor and his successors in office for the said commonwealth we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Witness our hands and seals this 8th day of March in the year 1830. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas, there is a marriage intended shortly to be solemnized between the above bound John T. Ruley and Nancy Webb daughter of James Webb dec'd. If therefore there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force. John T. Ruley (seal) John B.
