RULEY AND ELIZABETH MOHLER 1 MAY 1844 KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we: John F. Ruley and John S. Mohler Are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Commonwealth, for the use of the said Commonwealth, we bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 1st day of May 1844. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be had and solemnized between said John F. Ruley and Elizabeth Mohler daughter of the above bound John S. Mohler Now, if there is no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Teste John F. Witness our hands and seals this 29th Day of August, 1844. The condition of the above obligation is such that, whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above named James W? Pettigrew and Jane Ann Varner daugher of the above bound Charles Varner.
