Marriage Bond of John Hay and Nancy McCampbell

Know all men by these presents that we John Hay and John McCampbell
are held and firmly bound to the Co.wealth of of Virginia in the Sum
of fifty pounds current money to the payment whereof we bind
ourselves our heirs Executors & Admrs Jointly & Severally firmly by
these presents sealed with out Seals and dated the 28th day of
December 1789
        The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas
there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the
above bound John Hay & Nancy McCampbell of the County _______ If
therefore there shall be
no Lawful cause to obstruct the said Marriage then the above
obligation to be void or else to remain in full force.
