Witnesseth our hands and seals this 23rd day of January 1796. The condition of the above obligation is such that wheras there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound William Ramsey & Martha Ochiltree daughter of James Ochiltree of Rockbridge. If therefore there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the same then this obligation to be void or else to remain in force.
