(Transcription) Know all men that we Jonathan Sly & Campbell Good are held & firmly bound to John Tyler [John Tyler struck through] Jas. Monroe govenor of Virginia & his Successors in sum of one hundred & fifty Dollars for which payment well & truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs Exrs & admrs jointly & severally firmly by these presents. Upon this condition however that if there shall be no legal cause to obstruct a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Jonathan Sly & Anna Good daughter of Campbell Good of the County of Rockbridge then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force.
