Submitted by Louise Perkins perkins@digital.net Know all men by these presents that we Lawrance Green, James White & ThOmas Green of Rockbridge County are held and firmly bound unto Thomas M. Randolph Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Governor and to this successors for the use of the Commonwealth we bind ourselves our Heirs & jointly and severally firmly by these presents Witness our Hands and seals the 14th day of August 1820 -- The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be soleminised between the above bound Lawrance Green and Sarah White daughter of the above bound James White- If therefore there shall be no lawful cause to obstrickt the same then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
