Transcription Of Andrew Tolley and Harriet Ann Tolley's Marriage
Bond

        Know all men by these presents, That we Andrew Tolley and
David Clark of Rockbridge County are held and firmly bound unto John
Floyd Esqr, Governor or Chief Magistrate of the Commonwealth of
Virginia, in the just and full sum of One Hundred and fifty dollars:
to be payment to the said Governor and his successors for the use of
the Commonwealth for the payment whereof well and truly to be made
we bind ourselves and each of us our and each of our heirs,
executors and administrators jointly and severally, firmly by these
presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated this 28th day of July
1831.
        The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas
there is a marriage shortly intended to be had and solemnized
between the above bound Andrew Tolley and Harriet A Tolley daughter
of John Tolley of said County.
        Now if there is no lawful cause to obstruct the said
marriage, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in
full force. and virtue.

        The clerk of Rockbridge County Court is hereby authorized to
give License to Andrew Tolley to intermarry with my daughter Harriet
A. Tolley and for so doing this shall be your warrant  Witness my
hand and seal this 28th day of July 1831.

        This day David Clark one of the above subscribing witnesses
personally appeared before me clerk of said county and made oath
that John Tolley acknowledged the above certificate in his presence
