Transcribed as written. ---------------------------------------- I James Patton now in a declining State of health but of sound mind & memory do hereby make the following disposi- tion & arangement of the earthly goods which it has pleased the almighty to put in my possession-- At my Death I wish my debts to be paid should there be any. Secondly I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah Patton, the entire controul & use of my dwelling house & hous- hold & Kitchen furniture for the joint benefit of my family, untill my son William arrives to the age of twenty one years-- & at that period should she require it she is at li- berty to take possession of one half the dwelling house to remain hers during her natural life should she not marry, she to have such beding & furniture as she may choose out of any belonging to the Estate during her life, & to have a decent & sufficient maintainance with a horse saddle & Bridle subject to her controul as long as she lives-- Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my sons, Mathew Patton & William Patton my farm or plan- tation in which I am now possessed of to them & their heirs forever to be Equally divided in Quality & value with the following ex- ception that is William is to own the Dwelling & all other houses attached to said farm now except the Barn which is to be the Joint property of both the buildings is not be taken into the estimate of value or division & Williams half the land to be so laid off as to attach those buildings thereto. I also leave all my stock of every kind, horses Cows sheep & hogs &c & farming Utentials of every description to my said sons, Mathew & William except so much as may be necessary to pay debts of the estate the said Mathew and William to be Equal- ly bound for the maintainance of there mother during her life & there two sisters that are now single Isabella & Pheby as long as the remain single or live with there Mother & when the arive at the age of twenty one or when the Marry they are each to receive from thare Brothers jointly a horse saddle & Bridle Cows beding &c at least Equal to what thare sisters have received that are married already-- fourthly I leave unto my son James Patton one hundred pound to be paid in Cash by my two sons Mathew & William by Instalments of twenty pound pr year the first payment to be made twelve months after my death & so on twenty pound pr year thereafter untill it is all paid, the said Mathew & William to pay my son John Patton the amount of a debt that I now owe him, when William arrives to the age of twenty one years, Fifthly I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint my son Jno Patton & David Wilson my Executors for the entire settlement of this my Estate, & I do hereby declair null and void all wills or instruments of writing which I may have made pryor to this date.
