Henry Hayslett, farm at headwaters of Kerrs Creek that was willed to my wife, Molly Hayslett, by her father Henry Armintrout. To Daughter Martha Taylor, home place, but she must give Henry Hayslett her interest in the above mentioned farm. To daughter Elizabeth Black, farm known as McKenry place and farm adjoining the same which I purchased from Robert Hayslett. She must give Henry Hayslett her interest in Armintrout farm. To son John Hayslett, 1 negro man named Caleb and his wife Eliza and their children Margaret, Jane and Andrew Jackson and money already given to him, same condition as daughters. All personal property and negro man named Caesar and negro woman Charlotte to be apprasied and sold. Henry Hayslett executor of Andrew Hayslett, dec'd. ************************************************************************** WILL OF THOMAS GREEN [Submitted by Louise Perkins perkins@digital.net] 4/24/1856: I Thomas Green of the County of Rockbridge and State of Virginia do hereby publish this, my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at anytime heretofore made, and first I direct that my body be decently buried and as to such worldly estate as it hath pleased god to entrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows; first I will and bequeath to my grand daughter Nancy Jane Green, daughter of Mary Green all my right title and that -- the tract of land on which I now reside lying and being in Rockbridge County and known as a part of the Draper tract adjoining the lands of John Lucas, --, and further, I bequeath to the said Nancy Jane Green all my household proper viz consisting of one bed and one beding one bureau one cupboard, 4 windsor chairs and all my household property of whatsoever character and I further --- and hereby appoint my friend James H. Harris to be executor of this my last will and testament and further that my executor James H. Harris do rent the said land first to discharge my just debts should I have any and afterwards for the entire benefit of the said Nancy Jane Green. In witness whereof I Thomas Green the testater have to this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of April in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six. Harris At Rockbridge County Court May 6, 1861 the last will and testament of Thomas Green deceased was produced in court proved by the oaths of Robert Harris one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and the signature of Robert C. Harris, the other subscribing witness thereto proved by the oath of Robert Harris and ordered to be recorded. And James H. Harris, the executor named in said will having removed on the motion of Henry B. Jones who made oath and together with Josiah S. McNutt his security who justified as to his sufficiency entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of four hundred dollars conditioned according to law, certificates was granted him to obtain letters of administration with the will annexed on the estate of Thomas Green deceased in the due & proper forms: Said bond is ordered to be recorded.
