Glasgow The House & Lot my Residence, part of the Library, Pictures, Furniture, & certain secureties represent assests of my late wife Grace Ellen's Estate & pass by her will. It is my desire that my sonıs, Wm. A. & Joseph A. or such one of them as it may suit take charge of, settle & distribute the same under her Will. The foregoing represents a portion of her Estate, held in her own right. As to the inheritance of my first wife Elizabeth from her father Charles C. Spears late of Rockingham, the investment in Montrose, my former home at Fincastle, was of funds derived by her. On my removal to lexington I sold the same for thirty five hundred ($3,500.00) dollars & the same it is my desire to pay to her four surviving children, that is to Maggie (now Mrs. Armstrong), Frank, Robert & Bettie, & I charge the same on my shares in the Bank of Rockbridge. The residue of property in my possession & ownership is to go equally to all my children Maggie, Frank, Robert, Bettie, W. A. Jr., Joseph, & McPheeters, share & share alike. No advancements to be charged against any of them. I appoint my sons, Frank T., Wm. A. & Joseph Executors hereof, & request that no security be required of any of them on qualifying as such. My Executors, or any one who qualifies as such is authorized to sell & convey any property of mine, also to Execute any Deed which it would be proper for me to execute if living. The Mountain lands standing in my name, parts of the Barcley Survey, belongs equally to me & my son Frank, as they were fruits of our professional work. Given under my hand this 16th day of August 1904. W. A. My reason & motive for this provision needs no explanation. Given under my hand this 16 August 1909. W. A. Glasgow In the Clerks Office of the Circuit Court of Rockbridge County, Before the Clerk of said Court October 5th 1910. A writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament as well as a codicil thereto of W. A. Glasgow deceased was this day produced before the Clerk of the said Court, and there being no subscribing witnesses thereto W. P. Houston and E. M. Pendleton were duly sworn and deposed that they are well acquainted witht he handwriting of the said W. A. Glasgow deceased and verily believe that the whole of the said writing as well as the codicil there and the signatures thereto are in the handwriting of the said W. A. Glasgow deceased. And the said will and said codicil being thus proved as the true last will and testament and codicil of the said W. A> Glasgow deceased are ordered to be recorded as such. Thereupon Wm. A. Glasgow and Joseph Glasgow two of the Executors mentioned in the said will appeared before the Clerk of the said Court and refused to take upon themselves the burthen of the execution thereof. Whereupon Frank T. Glasgow the other Executor mentioned in the said will appeared before the Clerk of the said Court made oath according to law, and without security according to the conditions of the will entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $20,000.00 conditioned according to law- certificate is granted the said Frank T. Glasgow for obtaining probat of said will in due form. And said bond is ordered to be recorded.
