Geo. Airhart and others To Solon M. Bowman & wife - Rockingham Co., Virginia Recorded in Deed Book No. 10 Page 555 This Indenture made and entered into this 27th day of March 1874 between George Airhart & Sarah his Wife, Isaac Airhart and Elizabeth his Wife, William Airhart and Margaret his Wife, Michael Filtzmoyers and Sarah his Wife, Josiah Brenner and Elizabeth his wife, of the County of Rockingham and State of Virginia of the first part and Solon M. Bowman husband of Mary Bowman of the second part Witnesseth; That the said parties of the first part, in consideration of one hundred Dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Solon M. Bowman and Mary V. Bowman his Wife the following tract or parcel of Land, being the portion, of the Lands of John Airhart dec'd, by the division of said Lands, was allotted to the said Mary V. Bowman the Wife of said Solon M. Bowman, and is bounded as Follows, Beginning at a Stake near a Locust, thence S17E29 1/10 (?) poles to a Stake, N9 1/2W 52 8/10 poles to a Black Oak, S 63 /12 E 190 poles to crossing a Branch of Fort Run to a planted Stone near a White Oak Sapling in J Airharts line, S 39 3/4 W 11 poles to 2 white oaks S 36 3/4 E 56 poles to a stone s 44 1/2 W 31 7/10 poles to a Stake near a Walnut, N 67 1/2 W 196 1/2 poles to the Beginning containing 81 acres & 30 poles. To have and to hold the said Tract of Land to the said Solon M. Bowman and Wife, their Heirs and Assigns forever. To the only proper use and behoof of the said Solon M. Bowman and Mary V. Bowman their Heirs and Assigns forever. And the said Parties of the first part covenants with the said parties of the second part that the said Land hereby conveyed they will warrant generally. And in Testimony whereof the said George & Sarah Airhart, Isaac & Elizabeth Airhart, William and Margaret Airhart, Michael & Sarah Filtzmoyers, and Josiah and Elizabeth Brenner, have hereunto affixed their signatures and seals this 28th day of March 1874. Airhart and Margaret his Wife, Michael Filtzmoyers and Sarah his Wife, Isaac Airhart and Elizabeth his Wife, George Airhart and Sarah his wife, personally appeared before me in our County aforesaid, ______ are signed to the foregoing Deed, dated March 27th 1874 and acknowledged the same to be their act and Deed. and the said Margaret H Airhart, Sarah Filtzmoyers, Elizabeth Airhart and Sarah Airhart, having been examined privily and apart from their respective Husbands, and having said Deed fully explained to them, they each acknowledged the same to be their act and Deed, and that they had willingly signed, sealed and delivered the same, and that they wished not to retract it. Given under my hand this 28th day of March 1874. Wm G Thompson N.P Shenandoah County Court: I, Wm Lisinger (?) a Notary Public in the County aforesaid, and in the State of Virginia, do hereby certify that Josiah Brenner and Elizabeth his wife appeared before me, separate and apart from each other and respectively acknowledged the foregoing writing bearing date in the 27th day of March 1874, to be their act and deed: and the said Elizabeth Brenner, the wife of the said grantor being examined by me, privily and apart from her husband, and having the writing aforesaid fully explained to her, declared that she had willingly executed the same and does not wish to retract it.
