Bowman & Millie E. Bowman his wife, & Mattie S. Bowman, of Augusta County Virginia; R.C. Bowman & G. Homer Bowman of Shenandoah County Virginia; of the first part & David Bowman of Rockingham County Virginia of the second part: Witnesseth: That for & in consideration of Sixty dollars per acre amounting to Twelve Thousand, Six Hundred & Four 50/100 Dollars, the receipt in full of which is hereby acknowledged, the said A.M. Bowman & Mollie E. Bowman his wife, R.C. Bowman, Mattie S. Bowman & G Homer Bowman heirs & distributees of the late George M. Bowman of Rockingham County Virginia; having bargained & sold to the said David Bowman & do hereby brant, bargain, sell & convey, to said David Bowman & his heirs forever, in fee simple , all their right, title & interest, in a certain tract of land lying in "The Forest" in Rockingham County Virginia & which descended by the last will & testament of John Bowman Sen. to the heirs of the above mentioned George M. Bowman & whihc will is recorded in the Clerk's office of Rockingham County; Embracing Divisions No. 2 as mentioned in said will & containing 209 acres, 2 Roods & 23 Poles & bounded as follows: Beginning at two white oaks, corner to David Bowman & John Bowman Jr.. thence with the line of the latter N 64W51 1/2 poles to two white oaks, thence N 40 1/2 W 46 1/2 poles to a white olad in a lane, thence N 57 1/2 W 75 1/2 poles to a large Locust, Bowman & Orebaugh's corner, thence with Orebaugh's line N 28 3/4 E 62 1/5 poles to a stone, thence N. 3 3/4 E 32 1/2 poles to a stone, thence by division lines N 22 E 26 poles to a stone on a Ridge, thence N 65 E 105 3/4 poles to a stone in County line, thence with the same S 48 E. 132 poles to a stone placed in said line corner to David Bowman's Division, thence with the same S 51 1/2 W 90 poles to a stone, thence S 41 E 52 poles to a stone placed between two marked white oaks, thence S 41 W 93 3/4 poles to the beginning. And the said A.M. Bowman, R.C. Bowman, Mattie S. Bowman & G Homer Bowman hereby covenant with said David Bowman that they will warrant generally the title of the land hereby conveyed. Bowman acknowledged the same & declared that she had willing executed it & does not wish to retract it. Given under my hand this 22nd day of December 1876. M.R.
