Bowman to Hollar Deed - 1892 - Rockingham Co., VA This deed made the 30th day of July 1892 by and between Eli M. Bowman and Amanda C. Bowman his wife of the first part and Wm. J. Hollar of the second part both parties of the County of Rockingham and State of Va.- Witnesseth, that for and in Consideration of the sum of Six hundred and twenty five dollars, Cash in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the aforesaid Wm. J. Hollar, all their undivided interest into the home place on which their father lived up to the time of his death, (David Hollar) and Contains about Two hundred and forty acres of land / 240a. and lying on the E Side of the little North Mountain, and on what is known as the Mt. Valley Road, and in Linville district. And Adjoins the lands of B. A. Showalter, David Reedy and Others. And they the said Eli M. Bowman and Amanda C. Bowman his wife, hereby release unto the said Wm. J. Hollar all Claim or Claims upon said undivided interest, and that they have a right to convey said interest to the aforesaid grantee, and that he shall have quiet possession of said interest free from all incumbrances. And that they the said grantors covenant that they will warrent specially the land herein conveyed.- And that they have a right to convey said lands to the said grantee. Shoemaker, a notary public in and for the county of Rockingham in the state of Va do hereby certify that Eli M. Bowman and Amanda C. Bowman his wife, whos names are signed to the writing here to annexed, bearing date July 30th 1892 have acknowledged the same before me, in my county aforesaid.
