M. Williams Additional Comments: This deed contains many blanks where the original book was burned. However, it does show that Henry Burkholder received this land from his father, Peter Burkholder Sr., on June 10, 1807. According to the old oral story, Peter died while on a visit to Lancaster County, Pa. and was buried in the Groffdale cemetery in 1799. This deed proves that story is incorrect and he was still living in 1807.
