John Good and Magdalene his wife, Joseph Good and Molly his wife, David Good, Abraham Paery and Barbara his wife, and Henry Rode and Elizabeth his wife of Rocki =ngham County and State of Virginia, and Daniel Good and Mag =dalene his wife of Augusta County and State aforesaid, of the one part and Jeremiah Kyle of Rockingham County and State of Virginia of the other part. Witnefseth that the above men =tioned widow and heirs for and in consideration of the sum of Six hundred pound lawful money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Jeremiah Kyle the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowle -dged and have therefore granted bargained and sold & by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Jeremiah Kyle and his heirs afsigns one certain tract piece or parcel of Land containing one hundred and twenty acres be the same more or lefs lying and being in the said County of Rockingham, and joining the Land of John Brock and others, being a part of five hundred and thirty nine acres of land conveyed to William Cravens in in a Deed of Bargain and Sale bearing date the 22nd day of May 1794 by by Josiah Harrison and Mary his wife, Joseph Cravens and Mary his wife, Joseph Snap and Margaret his wife, and James Cravens, Heirs apparent at law of Robert Cravens dec'd. as will appear in the Rockingham Office, and bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at a Sycamore Corner to the old Patent Pg 30 thence with a line of the same and Brock's land N. 74 ½° W. 174 poles crofsing the creek to a white oak in said line thence S. 20° W. 42 poles to a stone, thence crofsing the tract S. 74° E. 73 poles to a Stone in a Road S. 54° E. 44 poles to a stake S. 32 ½° E. 18 ½ poles to the upper corner of the Milk House, thence round the three sides of the same S. 21 ¼ W. 24 links of the Chain S. 63 ¾° E. 23 links N. 21 ¼° E. 24 links of the Chain to the N. E. corner of the Milk House thence N 85 ½° E. 30 poles crofsing the Ditch to a Gate post near a Pine tree thence S. 65 E. 247 poles to two pines in Browns line thence N. 42°, W. 88 poles to a white oak N. 66 W. 90 poles to a pine N. 7 ½ E. 27 poles to a pine N. 53 ½ W. 64 poles to the Beginning. Together with all and Singular the appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appurtanining (Except a water right as excepted in a Deed from William Cravens and Jane his wife bearing date the day of March 1804) To have and to hold the said one hundred and twenty acres of Land with its Appurtenances (except as above excepted) unto the said Jeremiah Kyle and his Heirs and afsigns forever to the only proper use and behoff of him the said Jeremiah Kyle and his heirs and afsigns forever, and they the said Frainy Good (Widow) John Good & Magdalene his wife, Daniel Good and Magdalene his wife, David Good, Joseph Good and Molly his wife Abraham Paery and Barbara his wife, and Henry Rode and Elizabeth his wife for their Heirs executors and administrators, do covenant with the said Jeremiah Kyle & his heirs and afsigns that they the above mentioned widow and heirs of Jacob Good dec'd. and their Executors and administrators the said one hundred and twenty acres of land with its appurtenances (always with the above exceptions) unto the said Jeremiah Kyle and his heirs and afsigns against the claim or claims of them the said Widow Good & heirs, and of all and every person or persons whatsoever, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Frainy Good, John Good and Mag =delene his wife, Daniel Good and Magdalene his wife, David Good, Joseph Good and Molly his wife, Abraham Peery and Barbara his wife, and Henry Rode and Elizabeth his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals on Pg 31 on the day and year first above written. her mark Frainy X Good (Seal) Signed Sealed & Delivered in the presence of Johan Guth (Seal) Madlam X Guth (Seal) Abraham Beery (Seal) Barbary X Beery (Seal) David Good (Seal) Heinrich Rote (Seal) Elizabeth Rote (Seal) Daniel X Good (Seal) Magdalene X Good (Seal) Joseph X Good (Seal) Magdalene Good (Seal) Rockingham Superior Court September Term 1810 This R'ced. from Frances Good and David Good, John and Ma =gdalene his wife, Joseph Good and Molly his wife Abraham Peery and Barbara his wife, Henry Roads and Elizabeth his wife, and Daniel Good and Magdalene his wife of the one part and Jeremiah Kyle of the other part was presented in court and acknowledged by the said Francis and David, and by the said John, Joseph, Abraham, Henry, and Daniel, and by their said wives (they be =ing having been first privily examined as the Law directs) and is Ordered to be Recorded. Teste. H. J. Gambill C.S.C. R.C. Additional Comments: Jacob Good was was the son of Jacob and Susanna Good. He was born in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster County, Pa. about 1740 and moved to Virginia about 1795. The heirs in this deed are his wife and children who lived in Virginia. He had five other sons, Jacob, Samuel, Abraham, Martin, and Peter, who remained in Pennsylvania.
