Witnesseth that the said Abraham Good Martin Good and Peter Good for and in Considera- tion of the Sum of One hundred Dollars current Money of the United States is Each of them in hand paid by the said Jeremiah Kyle the receipt whereof they the said Abraham Good Martin Good and Peter Good do hereby acknowledge have granted bargain- ed and sold and by these presents do grant barg- ain and sell unto the said Jeremiah Kyle his Heirs and assigns forever All their and each of Theirs undiv- ided thirteenth part or share of and in a certain tract or parcel of land containing One hundred Twenty acres be the same more or lefs lying and being in the County of Rockingham aforesaid adjoining other Land belonging to the said Jeremiah Kyle and it is also a part of a larger Tract or parcel of land con- taining five hundred and thirty nine acres and conveyed by William Cravens and Jane his wife unto Jacob Good aforesaid by Deed of Bargain and Sale bearing date the day of March 1804 and duly recorded in the County of Rockingham with an explanation of the title papers therewith belonging and the said Jacob Good died without publishing his last will and Testament so that the fee simple Pg 146 Estate of and in the said deceased descended and came to Samuel Good and others being Heirs apparent at Law and legal descendants of the aforesaid Jacob Good deceased and is bound- ed within the following Lines (to wit, begin- ning at a Sycamore a corner of an old Patent and a corner of John Brocks Land thence with Brocks line North Seventy four and a half degrees West one Hundred and seventy four poles to a white oak on Brocks line a corner of said Kyles land thence with his Lines and cross- ing the tracts South twenty Degrees west forty two poles to a stone thence South Seventy four degrees East Seventy three poles to a stone in a road thence South fifty four degrees East forty four poles to a stake South thirty two and an half degrees East eighteen poles to the upper corner of the Milk house thence round the three sides of the same South twenty one and a fourth degrees West seventy four links of the chain South eight and three fourths Degrees East twenty three links thence North twen- ty one and a fourth Degrees East twenty four links of the Chain to the Northeast corner of the said Milk house as aforesaid and thence North eighty five and an half degrees East thirty poles crossing the Ditch to a gate post near a pine tree, thence South Sixty five degrees East two hundred and Seventy four poles to two pine trees on a line of Peter Brown’s Land thence with said lines North forty two Degrees west Eighty eight poles to a white oak thence Pg 147 North Sixty six degrees west ninety poles to a pine & black oak thence North seven and a half degrees East twenty seven poles crossing a hollow to a pine a corner of the aforesaid John Brock’s land thence with the same North fifty three and a half Degrees west sixty four poles to the Beginning. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining, To have and to hold the said three thirteenth with parts or shares of the said Tract or parcel of Land --- containing one hundred and twenty acres as aforesaid be the same more or left with the said Jeremiah Kyle his heirs and assigns forever Except a water wright excepted in the before mentioned deed of conveyance to the said Jacob Good for themselves and each of their Executors & admini- strators do grant bargain and sell make over and convey unto the said Jeremiah Kyle his heirs and assigns forever all their right Title Interest and claim of deed in the before mentioned Tract or parcel of Land as above described and will forever Warrant and defend the same from them and each of their heirs and assigns or any other person or persons claiming or to claim any wright or Title thereunto Whatsoever Except as already Excepted In Witness whereof the said Abraham Good Martin Good & Peter Good have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Pg 148 Signed Sealed and Delivered In the presence of ------------------ Abraham Guth (Seal) Christian -------- Martin Guth (Seal) ------------------- Peter Good (Seal) State of Pennsylvania being of the United States of America I, John Passmore Prothonotary of the Court of Law. called the common pleas in and for the County of Lancaster in the state of Pennsylvania aforesaid do hereby certify that Ab- raham Good Martin Good and Peter Good the parties who signed and sealed the aforewritten Deed or Indenture of Bargain and Sale do not reside in Virginia but dwell in the said County of Lancaster in the State of Pennsylvania aforesaid And that the said Abraham Good Martin Good and Peter Good this day appeared in open court of the common pleas aforesaid and in such open court acknowledge that they and each of them had signed Sealed and Delivered the said Deed or indenture of Bargain and Sale as and for their act and deed respectively. All of which I do certify in behalf of the said Court under the seal thereof this being the man- ner in which such Acts are usually authentic- cated by such court this Twenty fourth Day of August in the year of our Lord 1812 John Passmore prothonotary Pg 149 Rockingham County Superior Court Sept. Term 1812 This Deed of Bargain and Sale from Abraham Good Martin Good and Peter Good of the one part & Jeremiah Kyle was presented in Court and the same having been Acknowledged by the said parties in the Court of Common pleas in and for the County of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania and duly certified is desired to be recorded Teste. H J Gambill esqr. Additional Comments: Abraham, Martin, and Peter Good were three of the sons of Jacob Good who was born about 1740 to Jacob and Susanna Good in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster County, Pa. Jacob moved to Virginia about 1795 and died in Rockingham County, Va. in 1804. His sons, Abraham, Martin, and Peter remained in Lancaster County.
