Witnesseth that whereas Jacob Good Sen. Dec’d. Late of the said County of Rockingham was in his lifetime possessed in the fee simple estate in & of a certain tract or parcel of land Containing One hundred and Twenty acres Lying and being in the County of Rockingham as aforesaid. It being a part of a larger tract or parcel of Land Containing Five Hundred and thirty nine acres that was formerly Conveyed by Josiah Harrison and Mary his wife, Joseph Cravens and Mary his wife, Joseph Snap and Margaret his wife and James Cravens heirs apparent at Law of Robert Cravens Dec’d. unto William Cravens by their Deed of Bargain and Sale dated the 22nd day of may 1794 and duly recorded in the County Court of Rockingham the said William Cravens and Jane his wife Conveyed One hundred and twenty acres a part thereof unto the aforesaid Jacob Good Sen. Dec’d. by a Deed of Bargain and Sale dated the day of and is duly recorded in the County Court of Rockingham the said Jacob Good Sen. dying without first publishing his last will and Testament the two fifths of the the thirteenth part of the fee simple Estate in and of the said tract or parcel of Land descended unto the said Martin and Jacob Good Children and heirs of Jacob Good Dec’d. who was a son of the aforesaid Jacob Good Sen. Dec’d. Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Martin and Jacob Good Jun. hath for and in Consideration of the Just sum of Forty Dollars Currant money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said Jeremiah Kyle the receipt whereof they the said Martin and Jacob Good Jun. do hereby acknowledge hath Granted bargained and sold delivered released and Confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain and sell alien release and confirm unto the said Jeremiah Kyle Pg 81 his heirs and assigns forever their Two fifths of the one thirteenth part of the said tract or parcel of land as above described Subject neverthe less to a water right specified in said William Cravens Deed Together with all and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining (Except the water right already Ex =cepted) To have and to hold the said two fifths of the one thirteenth part of the said tract or parcel of land as above described to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Jeremiah Kyle his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Martin and Jacob Good for themselves and their heirs do grant bargain sell make over and Convey unto the said Jeremiah Kyle his heirs and assigns all their right title Interest and Claim in and of the Two fifths of the one thirteenth part of said tract and will forever warrant and defend the same from them their heirs or assigns or any other person or persons Claiming any right or title thereunto what =soever. In Witness whereof they the said Martin and Jacob Good hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Signed Sealed and Delivered In the presence of Martin Good (Seal) Joseph Shemo Wesley Harrison (Seal) Gordon McWilliams Rockingham Superior Court September term 1811 This Deed of Bargain & Sale from Martin Good to Jeremiah Kyle was presented in Court and proved by the oaths of the Wesley Harrison and Gordon McWilliams tow witnesses thereto and ordered to be Certified. Teste. H. J. Gambill C. S. R. C. Additional Comments: Martin and Jacob Good (IV) were the grandsons of Jacob Good (II) who died in Rockingham County, Va. They were the sons of the Jacob Good (III) of Dauphin County, Pa. and inherited their late father's share of their grandfather's estate in Rockingham County Va.
