Ludwick to Bowman - 1812 - Rockingham Co., VA This Indenture made December the fourteenth day, one thousand eight hundred & twelve between Daniel Ludwick and Catherine his wife, of Rockingham County and State of Virginia of the one part and John Bowman of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said Daniel and Catherine Ludwick formerly Katherine Kesler, for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars current money of the United States, to them in hand paid the receipt whereof the do hereby acknowledge, hath bargained and sold unto the said John Bowman & his heirs & assignes forever, their undivided fifth part, or share, of two certain tracts or parcels of land, lying in the said County of Rockingham adjoining the County line, the one tract containing ninety acres, and the other forty- five acres, and join each other, and was conveyed to John Kesler deceased by a deed of Bargain and Sale from John Stolz (?) dated May 24, 1783, and recorded in the county court of Rockingham, reference thereunto being had will more fully and at large appear. Now this Indenture Witnesseth, that whereas the said John Kesler dying intestate, the fee simple estate in and of the above tracts of land descended to the said Katherine Ludwick, and others, heirs and legal representatives of said John Kesler, Together with all its appurtenances. To have an to hold the said one undivided fifth part of the above two tracts of land to the said John Bowman, and his heirs and assignes forever. And the said Daniel and Katherine Ludwick, hath granted bargained, and by these presents made over and conveyed to the said John Bowman and his heirs and assigns all their rights Title etc. in and of their undivided fifth part of the above described tracts of land, and will warrant and forever defend the same, from them their heirs and assigns or any other person or persons claiming right thereto, whatever. In witness whereof the said Daniel and Katherine Ludwick hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written his William Loch (?)
