Rockingham County Clerk's Office Deed Book 25, Page 541 This Deed made this 29th day of December 1884, between John H. Ralston of D. of the one part and John T. Harris Jr. Of the other part, Witnesseth that in consideration of one dollar in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said John H. Rolston of D. doth grant and convey with general warranty to the said John T. Harris Jr. The following described tract or parcel of land situate in Rockingham County and bounded as follows to-wit. Beginning at a large stump thence S6 1/2 E 23 poles to a stake, thence S16 1/2 E 15 poles & 20 links to a stone, thence S 31 1/2 E 66 poles & 10 links to a stake, thence S 64 1/2 E 7 7/10 poles to a large white oak thence S 88 1/4 W 81 poles & 15 links to a stake, thence S 25 1/4 W 11 poles to a white oak & walnut thence S 26 W 24 poles & 18 links to a stake Blossers corner, thence N 57 3/4 W 22 poles to a stake, thence N 42 W 25 poles to a stake, thence N 80 W 116 poles to a stake, thence N 26 1/2 E 175 poles & 20 links to a stake, thence S 58 E 142 poles & 20 links to the beginning. Containing 162 acres 3 roods & 8 poles, and being the same tract or piece of land conveyed to the said John H. Ralston of D. by E.H. Cromer & Rudolph Moyers Extors of Joseph Cromer decd by their deed duly recorded in the Clerk's office for Rockingham County, In trust first to secure to Samuel H. Rolston the payment of the sum of a certain bond executed by the said John H. Rolston of D. bearing date Dec 15, 1882, and being for the payment of ($2618) Two thousand six hundred & eighteen dollars on demand, said bond subject to a credit of one years interest thereon endorsed, and after the payment of the principal & interest of said bond, then to secure to I.C. Myers the payment of a certain bond executed by the said John H. Rolston of D. bearing date March 19, 1883 & being for the payment of $561(86) Five hundred & sixty one 86/100 dollars on demand and to secure to Francis Rolston the payment of the sum of a certain bond executed by the said John H. Rolston of D. bearing date July 1, 1884 & being for the sum of $210.40 on demand, and to secure to Anthony Burkholder the payment of a certain bond executed by the said John H. Rolston of D. to James W. Rhodes bearing date Jan 12, 1883 & payable Six months after date, said bond being in the sum of $95, & subject to a credit thereon endorsed & assigned & transfered to said Burkholder by said Rhodes and to secure to said Anthony Burkholder the payment of a certain other bond or note executed by the said John H. Rolston of D. bearing date Sept 7, 1883 and being for $110 payable March 1, 1884, and to secure Joseph W. Bowman against all loss or damage by reason of his endorsement of a negotiable note for $1000 drawn by the said John H. Rolston of D. dated Oct 3, 1884, & payable 90 days after date at the Rockingham Bank, said note having been discounted for the said Jno H. Rolston of D. by said Bank, and to secure to the said Bank or any other holder for value the payment of said note or any other note or notes made in renewal thereof and the endorser of said renewed note or notes. The debts amounts & other particulars of the notes or bonds heretofore mentioned are believed to be correctly stated, but should there be any inaccuracy in the statement it is understood & agreed that the intent of the said John H. Rolston of D. is to secure to the persons hereinbefore mentioned the sums due them respectively, and in the order heretofore given, that is to say, Samuel H. Rolston is to be first paid the principal & interest of his said bond, and the other creditors hereinbefore mentioned are to constitute a second class and to stand on an equal footing as among themselves, and it is further agreed that the trustee where required by the creditors herein secured or by any of them shall sell at public auction the property hereinbefore granted after having first duly advertized the same upon the following terms, to wit, enough in hand to pay the costs of sale and the residue in three equal annual payments, with interest from the day of sale and the said trustee shall apply the proceeds of sale to the payment of said costs of sale & afterwards to the satisfaction of the trusts hereinbefore declared, and the residue if any, he shall payover to the said John H.
