Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************ File contributed by Harriet Welch hwelch@rica.net ******************************************************** This Indenture made this 10th day of April in the year 1838 between Jackson VanPelt of the County of Rockingham and State of Virginia of the one part and Daniel Fisher of the County and state aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Jackson Vanpelt for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Daniel Fisher the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Daniel Fisher all his the Jackson Vanpelts right, title, claim and interest in and to an undivided tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County Rockingham of which Peter Vanpelt died siezed and possessed at the timeof his death and which the said Peter Vanpelt, by his last will and testament bearing date the 25th day of October 1827 devised to his children and grandchildren, the said Jackson Vanpelt being a son of Benjamin Vanpelt, and a grandson of said Peter Vanpelt: To have and to hold the said undivided interest of his the said Jackson Vanpelt in the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Daniel Fisher his heirs and assigns, to the only proper used and behoof of him the said Daniel Fisher his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Jackson Vanpelt, for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Danl Fisher his heirs and assigns,that the said Jackson Vanpelt and his heirs and assigns the aforesaid undivided interest in the tract of land aforesaid with its appurtenances unto him the said Daniel Fisher his heirs and assigns against him the said Jackson Vanpelt and his heirs and against all persons whomsoever shall and will by these presents forever warrant and defend. In testimony whereof the said Jackson Vanpelt hath here unto set his hand and affixed his seal, the day and year first above written. Jackson Vanpelt In the Clerks office of the County Court of Rockingham April 11th 1838 This deed from Jackson Vanpelt to Daniel Fisher was this day presented to me Clerk for said County and was acknowledged by said Vanpelt and admitted to record.
