Bodkin/Losh marriage - Rockingham Co., VA Bodkin - Losh -- Miss Reba Losh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Losh, of Briery Branch and Paul O. Bodkin, son of J. S. Bodkin of Ottobine, were married Saturday evening at 7 o'clock at the home of the officiating minister, Dr. James W. Wright, of Harrisonburg. The ring ceremony was used. The bride was becomingly attired in a powder blue flat crepe with matching accessories. Immediately following the ceremony the newlyweds were honored at a dinner at the home of the groom's uncle, Jacob Wheelbarger, of Harrisonburg. Mr. and Mrs. Bodkin are well-known in the county and have a host of friends. They are now at home to friends near Ottobine. Mrs. J. S. Bodkin, of Ottobine, assisted by Mrs. Jack Lilly, of Harrisonburg, entertained at a miscellaneous shower Saturday night at the home of the newly-wedded couple, Mr. and Mrs. Bodkin. After the arrival of the young couple Master Harry Lee Bodkin announced that they would receive a large package. The gifts were presented to the young couple in a wagon drawn by little Miss Josephine Bodkin and Miss Doris Gene Orebaugh. After the packages were unwrapped there were displayed a fine collection of ornamental and useful as well as beautiful gifts from the many friends of the couple. Those who sent presents but were unable to attend were Mrs. Daniel O"Donnell, of Harrisonburg; Mrs. E. R. Lambert, of Clover Hill; C. L. B. Anderson, Wilmer Wheelbarger and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wichael. The shower was enhanced by serving delicious refreshments to all present b the hostesses. Those contributing to the success of the affair included Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stover, Mrs. Lizzie Smiley, Mrs. Sadie Rumsey, Mrs. Mattie Gangwer, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wintermyer, Mr. and Mrs. William Hisey, Mrs. Millie VanPelt, Misses Mary Lee and Josephine Bodkin, Mr. And Mrs. Claude Bodkin, of Broadway; Mrs. M. G. Newman, Mrs. Lloyd Newman, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Pence, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Whitmore, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Revercomb, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Pence, Mrs. Emma Zimmerman, Mr. and Mrs. Galen Orebaugh, Mrs. Viola Dowell, Miss Reba Bodkin, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lilly, Miss Olga Smiley, Miss Grace VanPelt.
