J.W. Dingledine Obituary - Rockingham Co., VA J. W. Dingledine Passes Away Dies at Golliday Home Here--Funeral This Afternoon. Jacob William Dingledine, 82, well known retired Shenandoah County farmer, died Saturday morning at nine o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John E. Golliday, 274 South High Street, Harrisonburg, where he had been making his home for the past four years. Mr. Dingledine had been in failing health for the past two years and critically ill for the past week. A son of the late John H. and Mary Elizabeth Miller Dingledine he was born June 23, 1862 at the Dingledine Homestead near New Market. In 1885 he married Mary Elizabeth McNeal, who died 20 years ago. Mr. Dingledine was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, serving as a trustee and a member of the Church Council. Surviving are four children: Mrs. R. E. Weatherholtz, of Centerville, Va.; Mrs. John E. Golliday, of Harrisonburg; Mrs. Nettie Walters, of Staunton; and George V. Dingledine, of Elkton, Seventeen grandchildren and a like number of great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held this (Monday) afternoon at two o'clock from the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Shenandoah County with the Rev. Stephen E. Schullery conducting the services. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 1:30 and will lie in state until the hour of the funeral. Pallbearers will be: Charles Olinger, John Kipps, Bud Estep, Casper Golliday, Sidney Golliday and Melvin Golliday. The body is now at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt.
