Mrs. Mattie Fry Obituary - Rockingham Co., VA Mrs. Mattie Fry, 70. Dies at Staunton Funeral Services at Clover Hill United Brethren Church Sunday Afternoon Mrs. Mattie Fry, 70, of Harrisonburg, widow of the late David Fry, of Clover Hill and a native of Greene county died yesterday morning at eight o'clock in a Staunton hospital after lingering illness. Mrs. Fry had been in ill health for more than a year but her condition did not become serious until three months ago when she was removed to the hospital. Several days ago her condition became critical and no hope was entertained for her recovery. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Clover Hill United Brethren Church conducted by the Rev. M. L. Minnick, pastor of the Harrisonburg Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Clover Hill Cemetery. The funeral procession will leave the Updyke Funeral Parlors, 120 East Elizabeth street, at one o'clock. For the last three years, Mrs. Fry has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Robinson on North Main street. Prior to this time she resides at Clover Hill. She was for many years a member of the United Brethren Church. Mrs. Fry, who was before marriage a Miss Derr, of Greene county, was twice married. Her first husband was a Mr. Newman, who died a number of years ago. She is survived by two brothers -- Mac and Samuel Derr, of Greene county; two half sisters -- Mrs. Peach Miller, of Greene county and Mrs. Mattie Hollar, of Alexandria, and one half brother-- A. T.
