Golliday Obituary - Rockingham Co., VA J. V. Golliday Dies At Hospital Grocery Employee Will Be Buried This Afternoon. John Victor Golliday, 57, of 274 South High St., died Saturday night at nine o'clock in the Rockingham Memorial Hospital after an illness of ten days. He was employed in the shipping department of the Mick and Mack store. Born Aug. 12, 1887 in Mt. Vine, west of New Market, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary Ann Zirkle Golliday. He lived in Quicksburg, but moved to Harrisonburg in 1918. He was a member of the Muhlenburg Lutheran Church. He was married in 1907 to Ada Virginia Dingledine who survives. Also surviving are these children: Mervel G., somewhere in the Pacific; Ralph, White Sulphur Springs; Mrs. Ruth Whitmer, Dale Enterprise; Mrs. Leah Minnick, Pleasant Valley; and Miss Thelma Golliday, Macon, Ga. His brothers are David, Quicksburg; George, Quicksburg; William, Winchester and Samuel, New Market, and his sister, Mrs. Mabel Hall, Harrisonburg; Mrs. Myrtle Smith, Baltimore and Mrs. Maude Gruver, of Winchester. He has nine grandchildren. There will be brief services from his home at 2 p. m. Monday followed by services at 3 p.m. in St. Martins Lutheran Church. Rev. Allen Fenner and Rev. Stephen E. Schullery will be in charge of the services. Interment will be in the Zirkle Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: John Wolfe, Della Lucas, Jennings B. Figgatt, Russell Hosaflook, Welty Rhodes and E. H. Senseney.
