Expires After Five Days’ Illness of Pneumonia ARTICLE: Albert (Bud) Barton died last evening at 9:45 o’clock at the home of D. F. Detwiler on West Market street, after an illness of five days with pneumonia. Barton was taken ill last Wednesday and rapidly grew worse until yesterday when all hope for his recovery was given up Barton was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonah Barton, who live on James E. Reherd’s farm, west of Harrisonburg. He had been employed by Mr. Detwiler since before Christmas and was a good workman. He was 25 years of age and is survived by his parents and six sisters—Misses Clara, Katie, Nettie, Lizzie, Laura, and Lucie; and two brothers—Clarence and Willie. His sister Nettie was with him when the end came and soon after her brother passed away, she fainted. Her condition was regarded so seriously that a physician was called in. She was not revived for more than an hour. The body was removed to Fultz’s undertaking rooms on East Market street last night. Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made. Barton was a member of the local council of the Modern Woodmen, which was organized a short time ago.
