B. Smootz ARTICLE: The funeral of L. B. Smootz was held yesterday afternoon from the home of his sister, Miss Alice H. Smootz at Shepherdstown, where he died, the Episcopal service being read. The burial service at the grave was followed by the masonic ritual, conducted by Mt. Nebo Lodge, of Shepherdstown. The sacred orders of which Mr. Smootz was a member were represented by the following persons from Harrisonburg, Masonic—W. C. Switzer, Dr. W. T. Lineweaver and A. H. Snyder; Knights of Pythias—Lloyd Beery and J. L. Armentrout; Elks—F. F. Nicholas, W. F. Fultz and C. F. Frazier. The Harrisonburg lodges each sent handsome floral designs. James R. Lupton, of this place attended the funeral.
