Expires Near McGaheysville in Her 93rd Year. Daughter of Lieut. Olinger, Who Fought in Revolutionary War. Survived by Four Children. ARTICLE: Mrs. Rebecca Bader, widow of A. J. O. Bader, died shortly before 1 o’clock Friday afternoon at the home of her son, Prof., John H. Bader, one mile northeast of McGaheysville. Her death was caused by paralysis. She suffered a slight stroke between two and three months ago, but her condition only became serious one week ago yesterday, despite the fact that she was in her 93rd year. Mrs. Bader was a daughter of James Olinger, who served as a lieutenant in the Continental army during the Revolutionary War. Her father moved from Pennsylvania to McGaheysville, where she was born December 4, 1816. With the exception of two years of her girlhood, during which time her parents lived in Staunton, her entire life was spent in or near McGaheysville. For the last ten years she had made her home with Prof. Bader, near that place. Mrs. Bader was a member of the Reformed church, with which she united seventy-five years ago. She was a woman of unusual intelligence and exerted a potent influence for good throughout her long life. Surviving her are four children—Arthur S. and William R. Bader, of McGaheysville; Prof. Bader, and Miss Maggie Bader, who makes her home with her brother last named. The funeral was held from the family residence yesterday morning at half-past 10 o’clock, Rev. A. Theo. Wright conducting the services. Interment was made at McGaheysville. The pallbearers were Messrs. J. D. Burner, Wm. A Leap, C. L. Hedrick, James Hedrick, George Dennett and James Payne.
