Mother Dead and Daughter is Very Ill Near Hupp. ARTICLE: Mayland, March 17.—Miss Martha Martz, daughter of John Martz, of the Hupp neighborhood, several miles north of here, is suffering with tuberculosis and her condition is regarded as critical She is about twenty-five years old and has been in failing health for several years. Since September her condition has been serious. Her mother Mrs. Sarah J. Martz, died Saturday night of a complication of diseases. She had been a partial invalid for several years. The funeral was conducted at St. Paul Lutheran church, at Hupp, by Rev. J. Paul Stirewalt, of New Market. Mrs. Martz, who was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abram Nicewander, is survived by two sons; Samuel Martz, of Timberville, and Albert Martz, of Arkansas, and six daughters; Misses Ada, Carrie and Martha Martz, at home; Mrs. Mary Fogle, of Arkton; Mrs. Julia O’Roark, of New Market, and Mrs. Laura Holsinger, of Hupp. She also leaves two brothers, Charles and Frank Nicewander of Harrisonburg.
