He had been more or less an invalid for the past nineteen years, being afflicted with locomotor staxix. He was critically ill for six weeks prior to his death. Mr. Pendleton, who was 67 years old on the 27th day of last November, lived for many years in the Pea;ch Grove neighborhood, but moved to Harrisonburg two years ago. He was a soldier in the Federal army during the Civil War. He is survived by five sons—Ashby and Oscar, of Springfield, Ohio; Newton, of Davis, W. Va.; Harvey and Charles, of Harrisonburg; and one daughter Miss Lizzie Pendleton who also resides here. Mr. Pendleton was a member of the United Brethren church, but the funeral will be held Wednesday in the Mt. Pleasant German Baptist church. The hour for the service has not been determined.
