Minnick Rites

     MT. CRAWFORD -- A funeral service for Mrs. Laura Rhodes Minnick, 
88, widow of Luther Minnick and a resident of the Spader's Church 
community, will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Hebron 
(Whitesel's) Evangelical United Brethren Church. The Rev.James Legg and 
the Rev. Daniel Agnew will conduct the services and burial will be in 
the St. Jacob (Spacer's) Cemetery.
     The body is at the M. F. Long Funeral Home where it will remain 
until 9:30 a.m. Friday when it will be taken to the church.
     Relatives will meet at her late home at 10:30 a.m. Friday for a 
brief service. Flowers will be omitted.
     Active pallbearers will be Jack Roberts, Harry Rodgers, Varlie 
Lambert, Hunter Roberts, Walter Rodgers, Floyd Morris.
     Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Filler, Riley Puffenberger, 
Paul Hevener, H. M. Shaver, Russell Diehl, William Miltenberger, Dr. J 
C. Harshberger, O. P. Holsinger, Charlie Rodgers, Billy Roberts, Paul 
Mannings.
     Mrs. Minnick died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday at her home near Spader's 
Church. She had been ill for five weeks.
     Mrs. Minnick was a daughter of Charles E. and Maggie Thomasson 
Rhodes and was born Jan. 8, 1874, at Mt. Clinton. On March 1, 1904 she 
married Mr. Minnick. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Hebron, 
Evangelical United Brethren Church.
     Mrs. Minnick is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert Back, of Rt. 
1, Mt. Crawford; three sons, Claude Minnick and Floyd Minnick, both of 
Rt. 1 Harrisonburg; and R. B. Minnick, of Rt. 1, Mt. Crawford; 9 
grandchildren and and 14 great-grandchildren.
