Court House Book 4 Page 43 This is my last will and testament made this July 2, 1891. I will all my Just debts to be paid. I will my niece [unreadable 1st name] Earman to have the quilt known as Newtons quilt. I will my nephew John Harvey Pendleton my Log Cabin quilt. I will the remainder of my property to be sold according to Law by my administrator and Equally divided among my children July F. Pendleton, John William Earman, Micle Harvey Grandles. The cubboard which is here belongs to July F. Pendleton. My administrator to pay berrying Expenses and for Toomstones before property is divided, I hereby appoint Samuel Hollar as my administrator. I hereby affix my hand and seal the day, and the year above written at my home near Peach Grove, Rockingham Co., Va. Matilda X [my mark] Earman E.N. Meyers R.L. Meyers mark W.G. Leake Virginia in the County Court of Rockingham County September (21) Term 1891~The writing purported to be the last will of Matilda Earman dec'd was this day presented in court and being proven by the Oaths of E.N. Meyers and R.L. Meyers, two of the subscribing witness thereto is admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded. And thereupon Samuel Hollar the Executor therein named who made oath thereto according to law appeared in Court and together with John M. Earman his surety who justified as to his suff*** entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $200.00 Conditioned according to Law. A Certificate is granted the said Samuel Hollar for obtaining a probate of the said will of the said Matilda Earman dec'd in due form. And it is entered of record that the amount? of property to pass under the said will was estimated not to exceed $100.00. Teste J.S.
