Bruner Jr. MOUNT CARMEL, Tenn. -- Burel Henry Bruner Jr., 78, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at home. He was born in Brookside, Ky., the son of the late Burel and Ila Bruner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, a true patriot. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Whitt and Sandra June Bruner. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. He is survived by his wife, June Bruner; one daughter, Bonnie Winebarger of Castlewood; three sons, Burel Henry Bruner III of Grafton, Ohio, Clair E. Bruner of Mount Carmel and Matthew Bruner of Mount Carmel; one sister, Sue Thomas of Verda, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at 8 p.m. with Brother Ronnel Williams officiating. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, with military rites by Highlands Fellowship Veterans Honor Guard in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. The family will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery, leaving at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, from 6 until 8 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood.
