He was born in Russell County, son of the late Thelma Minton Castle. He was a retired corrections officer for the State of Virginia and was owner and operator of Fincastle Minit Mart. He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Mills and husband Don of Lebanon; one son, David G. Castle of LaVergen, Tenn.; father, Floyd W. Castle of Castlewood; two sisters, Jean Stevens of Castlewood and Mary Wright and husband Jerry of Castlewood; one brother, John Castle and wife Linda of Castlewood; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2003, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, with Rev. Randy Williams officiating. Pallbearers will be friends.
