He was born in Scott County, Va., son of the late Jake and Ellen Gibson Collins. He was a farmer and a resident of Castlewood most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Stella Mae Collins; two daughters, Joyce Terry of Castlewood and Florine Collins of Castlewood; four sons, Robie Collins of Aurora, Ill., Wayne Collins of Castlwood, Sammy Collins of Castlewood and Gary Collins of Castlewood; one brother, Bill Collins of Dungannon, Va.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, with the Rev. Jessie Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Pallbearers will be Ricky Terry, Olaf Harmon, Christopher Collins, Mike Rose, Phil Jacobs, Timmy Marshall, Roger Hurd and Roy Couch. The Collins family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood.
