Compton LINCOLN, Neb. -- Mr. Jack Benny Compton, 62, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, in Waverly Care Center at Waverly, Neb. Born Dec. 8, 1940, in Council, Va., he was a son of Norman J. Compton of Council and the late Ada Hale Compton. He was a 1959 graduate of Council High School. He had lived in Nebraska for the past 40 years and was employed for 36 years by McVicker Auto Trim in Lincoln, Neb., before he retired in December 2000, due to disability. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Compton. In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Jama Breeding Compton of the home; one son, Robert Wade Compton of Lincoln; two sisters and brothers-in- law, Peggy and Al Lewis of Lincoln and Kay and James Fletcher of Council; three granddaughters, Amber Compton, Kara Compton and Ashley Compton also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Va., with Rev. Clyde Lambert, Rev. Edward Tiller and Rev. Troy Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon. Pallbearers will be Harold Austin, Rannie Breeding, Earnie Breeding, Edsel Breeding, Keithel Breeding and Harliss Breeding. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Mitchell, Herman Compton, Clyde Ball, Paul Wilkerson, Hassell Vandyke, Wanace Breeding and Lester Ray. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services locally will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker.
