Gilmer LEBANON -- Alice O. Gilmer, 83, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. Born July 29, 1919, in Hocum, W.Va., a daughter of the late F.M. Ocheltree and Nettie Esther Legg Ocheltree, she was the widow of Edward P. Gilmer. She retired from the Russell County Public Library as a librarian with 27 years of service and was a member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her children, Marcie Gilmer, Bluefield, Va., and Tom Gilmer, Lebanon; two granddaughters, Holly Hawkins and Beth Gilmer, both of Abingdon; and a great-grandson, Brady Hawkins, Abingdon. A graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, in the Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon with the Rev. Eddie Nash officiating. Those attending should meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 2664, Lebanon, VA 24266. Combs Funeral Service is serving the Gilmer family.
