Kitty Gilmer, 88, died Monday, July 19, 2004, at Asbury Place in 
Johnson City.

Born in Russell County, Va., Mrs. Gilmer came to Kingsport in 1936 
and moved to Asbury Center in Johnson City in 1995.
Mrs. Gilmer was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist 
Church. She was a real estate associate for a number of years.
Her husband, Joe Gilmer, and a sister, Mrs. Roy (Grace) Hale, preceded 
her in death.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Jeana Gilmer, 
Johnson City, Dr. Phillip and Rebecca Gilmer, Elizabethton, and Joe 
Jr. and Connie Gilmer, Troy, Mont.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-
grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Edythe Little, Portsmouth, Va.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 
22, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, with Rev. Chris Hughes 
officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Asbury Place at 
Johnson City, 400 North Boone Street, Johnson City, TN 37604.Hamlett-
Dobson Funeral Homes, 117 E. Charlemont Avenue, Kingsport, (423) 
378-3134, is in charge of arrangements.
